Cycling trophy awarded to Hubert Opperman, 25 October 1924, as 'Championship of the State' in the A.H. Thomas Pty Ltd Cup, held as a 125 mile (201 km) road race between Launceston and Hobart.

Opperman was only 20 when he won this race by a miniscule margin - and only 3 seconds behind the record fastest time.

The cup was presented by the Tasmanian Premier, before a crowd that included many members of the crew and officers from the H.M.S. Dunedin, who were extended invitations.
