Model R29 was made in 1935 and sold for 16 guineas; it was available in black or white cabinets. Its style is an upright mantle pattern with a bakelite case. It has five valves.

Model R28, made in 1934 in black only, was the first of the classic Art Deco so-called Empire State models that are so beloved by radio collectors.
