Bench centrifuge with variable speed control, made in Australia by Clements, about 1930s. Hydraulic speed indicator. Used by Commonwealth Serum Laboratories (CSL) Ltd., Parkville, Victoria.

Physical Description

Black painted hemispherical basin on stout black cylindrical stand with black plastic dial at front, black power cord at rear and three black rubber feet on the base. Inside there are six metal cylinders sitting in rings hinged to a central hub, on a rotating glass and metal rod which extends through lid. Top of rod cut away to reveal glass rod within, with scale 1500-4000. There is a removable lid with two handles that is fixed by three silver metal clamps on top around the rod. With this item there is a silver metal rotor and a mercury thermometer.
