Shoes believed to have been worn by Phar Lap.

They originally belonged to Mr Bert Wolfe, Sporting Editor for the Melbourne Herald.

Mrs Wolfe also donated a hand-written pedigree of Phar Lap, framed which had hung in her husband's office. Mr. Wolfe was formerly a member of the staff of the Sporting Globe.

Physical Description

Two aluminium horse shoes, showing signs of wear. Each shoe is a mirror image of the other, the curve being slightly irregular on one side. Each shoe has fourteen nail-holes, which are in a groove which runs the length of the shoe. The three nearest to each end are closer together than the rest.
