Bronze medal issued by the Post Master General in South Australia to Lance Corporal D'Arcy Garrett Cole, service number 960 of the 43rd Battalion, Australian Corps. Sig. Coy. (Signal Company). The medal was issued to all Post Master General employees who served in World War I.

Cole was born 29 March 1891 at Port Lincoln, South Australia. The son of Alfred Cole and Sarah Elizabeth Broughton, nee Garrett, of Jamestown, South Australia, Cole was a line & telegraph repairer prior to enlistment on 18 October 1915 aged 24 years. He embarked on 9 June 1916 and served in France. Cole returned to Australia 23 June 1919 on the ship 'Borda' and was discharged on 8 August 1919. Lance Corporal Cole died in 1971.
