The Society is a non-profit organisation based in Perth, Western Australia, which aims to promote the significance of rural Western Australia and the state's primary industries. It has encouraged and assisted the development of Western Australian resources, including agricultural, horticultural, viticultural, industrial, rural, technological, commercial and mineral resources. The Society was founded in 1831. It held its first show in 1834, and in 1890 it received permission to use the word 'Royal' in its title.
