Set of four metal rods manufactured by Park Avenue Wrought Iron, circa 1980-1990. They were used at the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind by visually impaired workers on the rod loom. Coir fibre was wrapped around the rod as it was passed between the warp strings. A knife would be used to cut through the strings on the rod and this formed the mat pile.
