'Halt Holt' badge, alternatively known as a button, made in 1965 and acquired by the donor during his period of draft resistance and other anti-conscription activities between 1965 and 1972. Harold Holt began his political career in 1935. He was Prime Minister from 1966-1967, when he disappeared in a presumed drowning off the coast of Victoria. Harold Holt became a particular focus for anti-Vietnam War protests when he declared his strong allegiance to the United States during a visit to Australia by the American President, Lyndon Baines Johnson, stating that Australia would be 'All the Way with LBJ'.
