A ceramic shard found under floorboards of one of the oldest buildings (1880s) at Caloola Training Centre, Sunbury, Victoria, Australia. It was a psychiatric hospital. Crockery of this type would have been used by staff rather than the patients.

Physical Description

White ceramic shard with purple decahedral design on top. Shard is vaguely round in shape as, on the bottom, the round base remains substantially intact. Much of the glaze is chipped, revealing the bone-coloured cross section under- neath.
