McTavish hand puppet made by Lamont Puppets, circa 1960s-1970s. Lamont Puppets was a South Yarra based company which operated during the 1960s and 1970s. The puppets, which included both hand puppets and marionettes, were sold throughout Australia as well as in the USA, Europe and the pacific. Hand puppets were produced for younger children as the were easier to operate and had no strings to tangle.

Physical Description

Hand puppet with a round wooden head with painted features on a wooden rod. Tartan cloth body with pink cloth hands. Brown woollen hair covered with green felt tam o'shanter with red trim. White cloth manufacturers label sewn inside.
