Photo taken by Cuc Lam in Can Tho, on her return to Vietnam in 1990. She took the photograph to show her children the type of boat she came to Australia in. This image features a large boat, which Cuc referred to as a 'truck', it is similar to the one which took Cuc into international waters. This type of boat is often used for transporting fruit and vegetables in Vietnam. Cuc escaped from Vietnam in May 1978, with her husband, and spent time in a refugee camp in Malaysia before gaining a refugee visa for Australia.
