Volume 8, Number 12 of the Army Educational Journal 'SALT' published 14 August 1944. SALT was published fortnightly by the Australian Army Education Service and distributed free to all ranks among all Australian troops in Australian and adjacent territories, and Royal Australian Navy, to inform, entertain and educate service personnel.
This edition contains an article titled 'Mammals you may have met' written by Charles Walter Brazenor on page 13. The front cover contains a montage of animal sketches linking with the article. Charles Brazenor was Curator of Mammals at the National Museum of Victoria (now Museum Victoria) and went on to become the Director.
