Summary

Glass Negative depicting an albatross preparing to land, presumably on a ship. It is one of a number of glass negatives by Eric Douglas and Frank Hurley taken of photographs from Voyage 1 of the British Australian New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (BANZARE), 1929-1930.

Eric Douglas was one of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) pilots who participated in BANZARE, 1929-1931. He was also a keen amateur photographer and worked with professional photographer Frank Hurley during both BANZARE voyages.
