Short paper with diagrams read to the Royal Society of New South Wales on 3 Dec 1890 by Lawrence Hargrave. In this paper Hargrave discusses his various experiments with what he called a 'vibratory flying machine', a model propellor aeroplane powered by compressed air. Four diagrams illustrate the model and Hargrave's further work on a rotary engine design. This paper was formerly held in the library of the Melbourne Observatory.
