This item is a lamp, probably used for spectroscopic purposes using a wavelength corresponding to 10.2 eV. This corresponds to a wavelength of 121.6 nm, an ultraviolet wavelength in the so-called vacuum region. Wavelengths shorter than 150 nm are ionising and it can be safely assumed that this lamp was used in photo ionisation equipment for gas detection and identification. Physical Description

Cylindrical glass or quartz bulb with exhaust tip at one end, large flange at base and a smaller flange at the top. There is a window in the base for the emission of radiation.
