This stereograph shows twin images of the Railway Tower, Flinders Street Station, decorated for the Duke of York's visit for Federation celebrations, 1901. This stereograph shows an elaborate tower on Flinders Street, heavily decorated in bunting and flags for the Duke of York's visit for Federation celebrations in May 1901. It also shows the busy street, including traffic and passers by. This stereograph came from a collection of Melba Ryan's grandparents, Josephine and Martin Nowlan. A lot of them were bought around Federation as souvenirs. They were passed down to Melba's mother, Doris Holden, who passed them down to her.
