This is one of a series of photographic material in print, negative and/or digital formats covering CSIRAC machine and the people associated with it. The series was acquired from the University of Melbourne in 2003.

Beside Bill Davern's right hand can be seen a leather eyelet punch, which was used to insert holes that were missing if a mistake was discovered after the tape had been punched out on a paper tape punch. This device was replaced by a manual punch, which allowed a person to position the tape more accurately.
