Summary

Photograph of George Simmonds and son Donald with range of Massey Ferguson Tractors. This image forms part of the extensive McKay Sunshine collection which includes images, film, objects, trade publications and oral histories.

An article from the Massey-Ferguson Review in 1971 stated 'George Simmonds and son Donald of Kaban on the Atherton Tablelands (Qld) recently increased their fleet of Massey-Ferguson tractors to 6 with the purchase of an MF1080 from MF dealer Estate H.S.Williams Pty Ltd. of Atherton. George and Donald have a maize farm but their main interest is in contracting and clearing. Their tractor fleet reflects the trend to higher horsepower - 2 Fergies, MF 135, MF 165, MF 178 and now the MF1080. It's the Simmonds' largest MF unit so they've painted its name above a console - Little Baby! In the photo: George (Standing at right) takes delivery of the new tractor from Bob Muir manager of H.S.Williams at Atherton while sales representative Keith Byrnes explains the controls to Donald.'
