The National Eucharistic Congress was a very significant event for Australian Roman Catholics. This souvenir desk plaque helps document the role of Archbishop Mannix played in promoting Catholicism as an integral part of Australian nationalism and nation-building.

Physical Description

Tin folded over a ferrous metal back with cardboard stand. On obverse, features two oval portraits in green frames with shamrocks - Cardinal McRory (left) and Archbishop Mannix (right) - on either side of a domed alter with religious iconography. An incomplete manufacturer's label is attached to the reverse.
