Letter from the District Accounts Office of the Australian Military Forces 3rd Military District to Mrs Annie Josephine Kemp, widow of World War I soldier Private Albert Edward Kemp, who was killed in action in 1917.

The letter explains that an application form is enclosed for completion by Annie before a Justice of the Peace and is to be returned to the District Finance Officer, Military Headquarters.

Annie struggled financially to raise two children on her own, and in 1922 was evicted from her home.
