Certificate issued to Bretislav Lukes by the Marconi School of Wireless, Sydney for completion of Television Theory's Practical course, dated 9 March 1959. Bretislav Lukes was born 12 January 1922 in Stankou in Czechoslovakia. He migrated to Australia on the Goya in 1950 and was sent to Bonegilla. His compulsory employment was for Australian Iron and Steel at Port Kembla, possibly on the Snowy Hydro-electric Scheme. He then moved to Melbourne where he worked for Myer, Watson Victa and finally in the Physics Department at Swinburne Institute of Technology. Known in Australia as 'Bob' he spoke English, Czech and German and had an interest in amateur radio.
