The only evidence, other than their token, of this firm's existence located during research was an entry in the Melbourne Commercial, Professional and Legal Directory for 1856, that read 'Thrale and Cross, Brokers, 69 Bourke Street West.' Their token describes them as 'Family Grocer' and 'Egg Powder Store'.

John Hope notes that this address was most likely for a company office at 'the Hall of Commerce', as it does not appear to be associated with the activities of the business indicated on their tokens.
